City Glamour • Fading Memory - Mark Tin-Kit

“City Glamour” and “Fading Memory” are titles used in the artist’s latest acrylic painting series to depict the street scenery of Hong Kong. The colourful “City Glamour” series showcases the glamorous moments still available in Hong Kong but which may fade out one day. The “Fading Memory” sketches the old times and uses bold brush strokes and nostalgic tones to present the historic scenes.

Another painting series in this exhibition, Urban Totem, uses realistic oil painting techniques to explore the ways all walks of life survive in Hong Kong.

With his keen perception, Mark captured the changes between the old and new days of Hong Kong and outlined its different faces and sensibility with two completely different techniques. The exhibition showcases over 80 pieces of Mark’s work, including a selection of comic manuscripts, and the audience can observe the artist’s journey in painting and drawing.
