LAM King-Ting

King-ting Lam (b. 1991, Hong Kong) is a printmaker currently based in Taiwan, working primarily in wood engraving. Trained at The Hong Kong Institute of Education (BEd, Visual Arts), Lam has developed a meticulous practice centered on the material and perceptual qualities of light. His works emerge from a sustained observation of sites marked by distinctive illumination, translating ephemeral atmospheres into fi nely carved matrices. Through the disciplined language of wood engraving, Lam constructs images that balance technical precision with poetic sensibility. Light in his practice is not merely descriptive but structural, shaping spatial perception, rhythm, and emotional resonance. His compositions often evoke quiet, liminal environments where the ordinary becomes contemplative.

Lam’s works have been widely exhibited across Asia and Europe and are held in public collections, including the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts and Centro de Arte Faro Cabo Mayor, Spain. His practice situates traditional printmaking within a contemporary context, foregrounding the dialogue between handcraft, temporality, and the visual experience of modern life.
